Liberty Union Resolutions Feb 5 2017

Liberty Union Resolutions adopted by consensus 5th February 2017

The Liberty Union Party demands that U.S. Representative Peter Welch join in and expand upon the current impeachment proceedings to effect the removal of President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Michael Pence from their respective Executive Offices.

The grounds for impeachment include but are not limited to violation of the Emoluments Clause of the U.S. Constitution (Article I, Section 9, Clause 8), executive orders and other forms of expressed intent to alter or remove certain protections guaranteed under U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.

U.S. Constitution, Article I, Section 9, clause 8:
No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.

The Liberty Union Party calls upon Governor Phil Scott and the Vermont Legislature to defederalize the Vermont National Guard and to redeploy them to repair the infrastructure of the State, including roads, culverts, bridges, state and public school buildings, and to engage in the environmental clean-up of waterways and toxic waste sites.

Liberty Union advocates the adoption of a universal basic income for every person residing in the United States financed by a confiscatory tax on wealth in the interest of achieving economic justice in a classless society.
